suppose to have 4m but at the very best only get 1m.this is on a regular bases.when contacting virgin media you get told its not there problem its down to your setup or cards instaled.even after several speed test its never there fault.virgin sucks big time.

In 18 months with Virgin (cable) I never had to call customer service. The speed was consistently decent even with their slowest package. At 18 pounds per month and no need for a BT phone line I can't complain.

On BT line Virgin. Peak times seems to last from Friday 1pm to midnight Subnday. And Mon -Fri from 3pm school kid home time until 10pm school kid bed time. Satrurday currently getting 0.5Mps paying for upto 8Mps. Go somewhere else avoid Virgin.

I have been with Virgin for over 5 years, however, the service has got worse. We have difficulty getting a reasonable speed except during the week between 0800-1500hrs. Come on Virgin sort it out or you will lose even more customers.

Worst ever broadband experience. Customer service is attrocious, they blame everyone but themselves. Most days we're lucky to get dialup speeds on an 8Mb account - total scam. Moving to O2 in next few weeks.

Upgraded from 2 meg to 20 meg for online gaming, I can never get anywhere near 20 meg on downloads, best is 5 meg, speeds vary depending on time of day. It's true in the advert "up to 20 meg" if you can reach it. Still, 50 meg on the way with Virgin soon.

been with ntl/virgin for years got hoodwinked by ntl with a promiss of upgrade to 4 meg for not a great service but now even worse have phone broadband 2m and tv for kids a fortune and they wont even upgrade me or give me the relative security because i cant...    read full review

Have been with Virgin for years, used to be on dial-up then 512K, 1Mb, 2Mb all great. Then free upgrade to 8Mb, great, except I'm lucky to get 512K let alone 8MB. I have seen 8Mb so looks like the line can do it, but nowadays lucky to get 512K.

i swap to bt and got slow less than 2mbs..explanation ..your distance to their exchange..rub!now back on virgin media got 3.8mb come on mr branson you charge too much...

Unworthy of the title of Internet provider I pay £14 a month for a max speed of 480K maybe it's because I'm in scotland I can find no uk providers that can match the speeds of the USA as usuall we are being lied to whats this rubbish of 8meg in your dreams...    read full review

Only pay a small amount for my 2mb and it never drops below 1.9mb so am happy, but that said as kish states 10p connection fee and 25p a min is a total rip off to tell your provider their broadband is working.Sort it out mr Branson

Just did a speed test and got 2meg. What a load of crap. Should be taken to court under the trade description act. 2 tin cans and a piece of string would be quicker. What a shambles. I am not happy.

i started with ntl on 1mb and have progressively moved up to now 20mb package i pay £25 a month for telephone and BB the speed of the BB has never reached any of the advertised speeds just over 10mb has been the fastest but i live to far from telephone...    read full review

I have upgraded to the 20meg, but every evening at 5 till 8pm the Speed drops to 4meg. WHen i was on 10meg, i never had any problems.. What the Hell is going on Mr Branson?

In the last few weeks virgin broadband has become very very very slow. Customer services are none commital they just quote upto 8Mb all the time even though I am experiancing as little as 200 kbps at times. will change supplier soon if it doesn't improve

Since the change over from ntl to virgin media, the broadband has been very very sluggish and that why I decided to check the speed with this checker as It felt no better then the 10mb I had before, so it just does not justified the cost of £37!!!

My speed which should be 20Mb is running at 1.5Mb To speak to support when I fianlly get through is at 25pence per minute They always say the same thing-Delete Temporary files etc etc Then when they cannot help they book an engineer that can only come...    read full review

We signed up for up to 8meg, while we knew since this was a bt line we probably wouldn't get the full connection. We were told to expect about 3 meg, alas, at peak times we managed to get a mere 56k... during the night it wasn't all that better. Bt blamed...    read full review
