I am paying for the 1Mb service and appreciate the up speed is significantly lower as it should be.
I have 9800Kbps Down and 456 Up.
I do find it disspointing thy have started charging silly money for technical support, however I have never found fault with...

suppose to have 4m but at the very best only get 1m.this is on a regular bases.when contacting virgin media you get told its not there problem its down to your setup or cards instaled.even after several speed test its never there fault.virgin sucks big time.

Have had problems with broadband speeds, a massive fluctuation from 6.6m which is the best I can get, to less than 1m where I can,t play BBC iPlayer. I have also had trouble with their technical support, where I had ben paying premium rate 25ppm for 20mins...

In 18 months with Virgin (cable) I never had to call customer service. The speed was consistently decent even with their slowest package. At 18 pounds per month and no need for a BT phone line I can't complain.

I have been on Blueyonder/Virgin for 10 years now and apart from the occasional problem, I have found it excellent for both download and upload speed. I am now looking forward to the free upgrade from 4Mb to 10Mb

Download speed fluctuates from 7kb or, rarely, as high as 2Mb

I have just ordered the 20MB XL, are you guys upset about THIS VERY ONE? Or another, they say mine will come through Fibre Optic is this the case with the people who are not satisfied, i swear i read that Fibre Optic IS always the max?
Please answer...

I have been with NTL then VM for over 5 years.
I have the cable service.
Service is very reliable, speed is consistant and runs within 80-100% of the rated speed.
Now enjoying 10M, thanks to a free upgrade from 4M, which in turn was a free upgrade from...

Upgraded from 1meg to 8 meg got .7 meg most days.
On BT line and told by tech service BT will not progress problem unless service drops below .5 meg. Rip off will change at end of contract.

i have been with virgin 9 years customer servise very hepful service rarely go es down had 2meg broadband ok peak time went to 1.5 meg now been upgraded 10 meg getting 9.5meg pretty good ah

On BT line Virgin. Peak times seems to last from Friday 1pm to midnight Subnday. And Mon -Fri from 3pm school kid home time until 10pm school kid bed time. Satrurday currently getting 0.5Mps paying for upto 8Mps. Go somewhere else avoid Virgin.

the 10 mb is more like 4.9 even on a good day confused advertised as £18 but costing £25

I pay for 4Meg (soon to be udgraded to 10Meg foc). The test shows I am getting download speed of 3.86Meg so more or less what I'm paying for. It has sometimes dropped quite considerably usually late at night, I have put that down to maintenance.

I Have 4 meg service, but am more likely to actually reach 1-1.5 meg when i`m online,as i play online games i`m finding this unacceptable,it`s fine them bringing out new faster services, but you`ll never actually receive it,so i`m looking round at other isp`s...

Slow between 16:00 and 00:00 due to apparently my computer... have to ring 4 different phone numbers if you want to complain, one tells you that you can claim the cost back is it's their error... the next number (WHICH THEY GIVE YOU) says "we dont do that"...

I have been with Virgin for over 5 years, however, the service has got worse. We have difficulty getting a reasonable speed except during the week between 0800-1500hrs. Come on Virgin sort it out or you will lose even more customers.

What has happened to value for money, we should get what we pay for, however, we only get a fair deal at times when most people are not using the service, WHY?

my speeds are approx 6meg to 11meg a lot faster than tiscali they are crap.

Had 2 mb intially, was good. Average speedtest 1.6mbps. Went up to 4mb, average speedtest between 4 and 7 mbps. Then upgraded to 20meg and wat a let down! Got anywhere between 5 and 12 mbps. Wonder what'll happen at 50meg? Customer service leaves a lot to be...

Happy until I upgraded to 2MB to 8MB, loads of problems with that (off line for 2 weeks)and never fully compensated for that - vow to leave Virgin at end of years contract (who do you recommend?). Today just tested speed, I got 72K download and 118K uplaod...

Don't know why people give them grief, i had 2 mb first, always there, now on 4mb always there, never any issues. its fibre optic cables not a bt 70yr old copper cable line, so it will run better, it must be your system, modem or too many people connected at...

Anybody else getting this. I'm going from cable modem through a Netgear WGR614 router. I'm getting 3.6Mbps if I go straight from the modem to any PC, but through the router this drops to 1.2Mbps, both on LAN (W2K desktop) and wireless (XP laptop), except my...

Worst ever broadband experience. Customer service is attrocious, they blame everyone but themselves. Most days we're lucky to get dialup speeds on an 8Mb account - total scam. Moving to O2 in next few weeks.

I pay for 2 meg, and get 1.3 meg on average. Spoke with their sales departmentwho gave me the usual area upgrade excuse. I agreed to upgrade to 10 meg thinking I would get at least 7 meg, but no, I got just 2.5 meg. Yes, and cancelled at went back to a 2 meg...

Can't complain. Maybe only that up to 4Mb in real life means cca 500kb average.. fair enough IT IS up to 4.
well well

Upgraded from 2 meg to 20 meg, what a waste of time. Most days I'm lucky to get 0.5meg download speed. Virgin need to stop selling broadband untill they have got enough resources in the area to match the speeds you pay for.

Upgraded from 2 meg to 20 meg for online gaming, I can never get anywhere near 20 meg on downloads, best is 5 meg, speeds vary depending on time of day. It's true in the advert "up to 20 meg" if you can reach it. Still, 50 meg on the way with Virgin soon.

Basically, this service is unreliable in the sense that peak usage is dismal with up and down speeds little better than dial up. That's right, DIAL UP. Off peak the system delivers 6700 kbps, such as during office hours, but come 3:30 when the kids get home...

Had 2 meg service, usually got about 1.5 even at "peak times" Ok fair enough, upgraded to 4meg service great! 3.9meg cool! then comes "peak time" again 0.9 meg? Ok I understand the principle of the slowdown for "peak traffic" Dow to 75% of service fine, 50% I...

Been with Telewest and now Virgin Media for many years. Cable broadband (if you can get it) has far better speeds. The speed they advertise is the one you get. I'm very happy with my provider.

On basic 2Mb,but actual speed is very variable. Can reach 2Mb but mostly at times of the day you don't need it. At peak times 0.2Mb is more usual, with an average of about 0.6 -0.8 over the day as a whole. Little point in upgrading as the service is only upto...
